Lindy Vakoc, APRN
Advanced Practitioner Registered NurseLindy Vakoc, APRN, MSN, FNP is a board certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner with 15 years of cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and electrocardiology experience. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from South Dakota State University and began her career as a registered nurse at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in 2009. She advanced her career and graduated in 2015 from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN with a Master of Science Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She broadened her knowledge base and worked as a Hospitalist overnight. Then transitioned her career back to emphasize in cardiology and electrophysiology. She continued to work as an autonomous overnight nurse practitioner in the hospital setting for the last 7 years. In June 2023, she accepted a job with Pioneer Heart Institute. She has been involved in the entire continuum of cardiology over her career path. Her cardiology interests include structural heart disease, interventional cardiac care, heart failure, and electrophysiology. She is excited for a new career path in a variety of clinical, outreach and hospital settings. She is happily taking new patients!
Lindy is a Nebraska native who married her high school sweetheart. Together, they have 4 children and a love for animals – 2 dogs, cat, frogs, and fish. In her spare time, Lindy enjoys watching her children’s sporting activities, hiking, and cooking.
